Just a few things....

Long time no blog! What happened? Life, my friends.  I've been enjoying my summer and in doing so the blog has been on the back burner...obviously!

I have no real direction for this post. I just have a few little rant type things that I want to get off of my chest. I don't intend to offend anyone with what I'm about to say. I'm just in a mood, if you know what I mean.

The olympics--Is is just me or are the olympics a little lame so far? Opening ceremonies- Zzzz long and boring. Women's gymnastics-- My favorite sport to watch. Aside from the fact that I heard who won the team gold well before it aired (grrrrr NBC), it was just not as enjoyable to watch as years past. The routines had lots of power and difficult elements but lacked, in my opinion, the artistic elements of gymnasts in the past. Live streaming vs. Primetime TV-- I understand why NBC waits to air popular events at primetime but it's frustrating to hear about the winners of the competitions before they even air on tv. I know I could just watch online, but call me crazy, I'd rather view the olypics on my 42'' HDTV, not my 15" laptop. Just a personal preference I guess....Hopefully the week gets better! Other events I like to watch are beach volleyball and diving.

Chick-fill-A--I don't wish to rehash the controversy surrounding Chick-fill-A on my blog. I will say, however, that I ate there today and it was yummy :) I will also say that no matter how you feel about homosexuality and marriage we should all support free speech
My Chick-fil-A on Chick-fil-A apprciation day!
A few more things....
We are currently having the siding and roof redone on our house. I am soooo ready for all of the banging and pounding to be done!

I am so tired of losing my phone everyday. B hides it from me or I set it down and forget where I put it. Last night it was in the pantry....I have no idea how or why!

It's already August! Call me crazy, but I'm ready for autumn and some cooler weather.

I've barely made a dent in my Summer Reading List but I have crossed off a couple of things on my 30 before 30 list

My mom told me about a job posting at a Macy's near me in their beauty department. I'm thinking about applying! I think that would be a fun job! I'm afraid, though, that my paychecks would go right back to the  makeup counter!

I like watching cooking shows but why oh why do we need close up shots of their big mouths eating the food?! (I'm watching Nigella Feasts as I write this!)
****
Whew! I'm glad I got that off my chest! I'm hoping to get on a regular blogging schedule soon. I do want to put out more posts, but I just don't always feel like doing it!

I hope you're having a fun summer and I hope I didn't offend you with my rantings. What's been bugging you lately? Feel free to leave a ranty comment!

30 Before 30

Happy Hump Day peeps!
I recently stumbled upon the blog Covered in Grace. The author, Brooke, has a 30 before 30 list and I thought that would be something fun to do. And since I'm such a goal oriented person and a list maker, it's right up my alley! If you don't already know, a 30 before 30 list is a list of goals that you want to complete before you reach the age of 30. A bucket list of sorts.
I already had most of these goals in mind but I did visit other 30 before 30 lists to get more ideas. I found the lists via a google search.
My plan is to update this list and blog about each goal I complete! I will turn 30 on April 1, 2015.

Jaimee's 30 before 30

1. Run a 5K
2. Lose the weight

26. Go on a girls trip with my mom and sister
27. Floss on a regular basis
28. Invest/ have a retirement plan
29. Get a new bed
30. Give my hair to locks of love

It's crazy to think that I'm almost 30. When did I get so old?! There are things that I thought I would have accomplished by now (school) but I've also done things that I wasn't planning on (being a mother). I think it will be a fun challenge to see how much more I can accomplish before the big 3-0. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Summer Reading List

Hi, my name is Jaimee and I have a reading problem....

Have I told you about my love for reading? As long as I can remember, I've loved to read. From the Little Golden Books to a big book of fairy tails I had, to The Babysitters Club and Goosebumps. My mom's VC Andrews books and Jane AustenReading has always been a favorite hobby of mine.  I typically read 2-3 books per month (in addition to all the magazines and blogs I read). I tend to gravitate to more romantic books. I also enjoy mysteries, crime dramas, young adult, inspirational, adventure, classics...

With summer now in full force, I thought it'd be fun to compile a summer reading list for myself. I had a few books in mind already and from there I just browsed on Amazon. I created a summer reading list board on pinterest to house my list.  A few books I'll be reading this summer:

Gone Girl: A Novel

I'm very excited to get started with my list! I just finished Mockingjay. I really enjoyed the Hunger Games trilogy. It was nice to read a young adult novel with a strong female lead. Katniss had her struggles and her flaws, but ultimately she was a strong young woman who fought for herself, not the affections of a boy.
To see the rest of my list take a look at my board on Pinterest. I'd love to have you follow along reading with me! In addition to my own reading list, I am also participating in a blog book club created by the lovely Katlyn over at The Dreamy Medow. Right now the book is 50 Shades of Grey. I'll have more info on Bloggy Book Club and my responses to the groups questions about the much talked about book, 50 Shades of Grey on Monday!

What books are on your must read list? Do I need to add any to mine?

Confessions

Hey stranger! Long time no blog!  To get back into the groove of blogging, I feel I must bare my soul and confess a few things. Here goes!

I confess.....

As I write this I have Get Into the Groove by Madonna in my head! "Get into the groove. Boy you've got to prove your love to meeeeeeee! Yeah!"

I seriously considered stopping blogging again. But something keeps bringing me back to it. Sometimes it feels like just one more thing to do, but at the end of the day I really do enjoy the process of it and I want my blog to succeed.

My current home is the first place that I've felt like decorating myself. My previous homes (aside from my parents house) I didn't do anything to decorate. I have a few ideas of what I want to do, but mostly I feel lost and have no idea what I'm doing!

I wish I would have potty trained B before we moved so that I could ask my mom for help.

Speaking of potty training, I'm currently losing at it! B is more interested in getting into everything in the bathroom and flushing the toilet, not going potty.

Lately I've been counting down the hours until naptime and then I count down the hours until bedtime.

Some days I want to be the one to go to work and Teddy can be the at home parent.

My biggest motivation to go to church tonight is to be able to get away from B for an hour!

The coolest thing about living in a larger city is having a Target and a Chili's 5 minutes away!
--------

I think that's enough soul baring for one day! I'm looking forward to getting my grove back and putting out some great posts for you. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!
