What's in My Travel Make Up Bag?

Last weekend my hubby and I were lucky and got to go away for the weekend!
This is the makeup that I packed.

The Tools
Tarte airbrush blush brush for blush, ELF Studio Powder brush for foundation, Sonia Kashuk large powder brush for bronzer, Sonia Kashuk spoolie for brows, disposable spoolie for lashes, eye lash curler.
Face
Benefit erase paste, Monistat anti-chafing gel for primer, Tarte Maracuja creasless concealer, Sonia Kashuk perfecting luminous foundation, Neutrogena mineral pressed powder foundation
Cheeks
Benefit Posietint, ELF warm bronzer, Tarte airblush in Amused

Eyes
Tarte lights camera lashes mascara, Maybelline define a brow, Tarte waterproof eyeliner in black, Urban Decay 24/7 shadow stick in Juju
That's it! I wanted to pack light and I knew that I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time on my makeup. These products were the perfect combo for me!
I also had some various lip products with me, but I forgot to include them.

What makeup do you pack when you travel? Do you go minimalist, like me, or do you glam it up on vacay?

An Embarrassingly Large Collective Haul

Hello there! No, I didn't fall off of the face of the Earth. I just haven't been all that motivated to blog. I have a feeling that my posts will be rather sporadic until after the holidays. Don't fret, I'll be full force for 2012!

Today, as the title suggests, I'm sharing my recent haulings...."They see me hauling, they be hatin'..."  For whatever reason this is in my head as I write this :)

ELF Haul!!!

I have been resisting the ELF sales since January. I just couldn't hold out any longer! Last week they had a code for 50% off the studio line. So I grabbed a few things!

Here's the break down:
Small Brush Holder-
Studio Lip liner and blending brush in- Natural and Nude pink- Admittedly, I have not tried many lip liners, but these are without a doubt the best I've tried. They are super creamy and go on like a dream! The color payoff is great as well.  There is also a brush at one end that it is nice for blending. I would repurchase this.

Studio Eyeliner & Shadow stick in- Plum/Purple- I enjoy the product itself, but in a different color. I'm not crazy about the shadow end. I was hoping for a brighter purple color. Both the shadow and liner are creamy and easy to apply and blend. I use the shadow as a base for powder shadows. These do crease on me after 8 hours or so, even with primer. But for the price that doesn't bother me. I wish I would have gotten the forest green one instead! I have repurchased this product

Studio Glossy gloss in-Berry Blush- The pigmentation of this gloss is great and I really like this color. I'm not a fan of the texture though. It is very thick and heavy. It isn't really sticky, but it feels very thick on my lips and I don't like that. If I am careful to apply it lightly it isn't too bad. I might repurchase.
Top- Glossy gloss in Berry Blush. L to R- Lip liner in Natural and Nude pink
Shadow/Liner stick in plum/purple.

Studio Warm Bronzer- EmilyNoel83 used this in her Back to Beautiful makeup tutorial and I just had to have it! I like swirling all of the colors together for an all over glow, use the darker shades for contouring eyes and cheeks, and the two lighter shades as a high light. I would repurchase

Matte top coat polish- Give a Matte finish to any polish. It works!
Mineral eye blending brush- Soft and great for blending shadows. I like the smaller size of this blending brush. It fits my eye nicely.

Studio body Kabuki brush- I love this big fat kabuki brush!! I use it on my face though. It is very soft and great for a light dusting of finishing powder or bronzer.

I am very pleased with my purchases. And I would also like to mention that the shipping was very fast! In the past ELF's shipping hasn't been the greatest, but this time everything was great! Everything arrived in good condition and it arrived quickly!
ELF is found at www.eyeslipsface.com and at some Target, Big Lot's, Dollar General and other discount stores.
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! :)

Fall 2011 Beauty Trends

Fall is just about here! Fall is my absolute favorite season. I just love the crisp, cool air, the rich colors, and of course some hot apple cider!

A new season is the perfect time to spice up your usual make up look.
I am loving the trends this season. While some do look kind of crazy on the runway, I think they can be easily adapted to make them more wearable. Here are my favorites....

Wine stained lips

I love this. I feel like it's a more wearable version of a red lip. Here's how to wear it: 1. Apply lip balm and blot any excess
            2. Apply lipstick. I like to dab it on from the tube and then use my finger to blend it in.
            3. If desired apply a clear gloss.

My Favorite Makeup Brushes

Here are my favorite brushes....and they're all cheap!
From top to bottom:

1. ELF studio powder brush- It is antibacterial, synthetic haired takalon brush. It is very dense and very soft. I've washed it several times and it has yet to shed a single hair. It is great for buffing in powder or liquid foundation. Vegan and cruelty free. Available at http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ $3

2. Everyday Minerals long handled kabuki- A synthetic haired brush that is dense and soft. Also great for buffing in powder or liquid foundation. Vegan and cruelty free. Available at http://www.everydayminerals.com/ $12

3. I believe the brand is Studio Basics- it is a eye blending brush at one end and a pencil brush at the other. I think these are synthetic. The blending brush is good for blending out eyeshadow or applying a wash of color to the lid. It can also be used to apply and blend concealer which is how I use it. The pencil brush end can be used to apply shadow to the outer V or to smudge shadow or liner in the lash line. I bought this in a set at Walmart. I don't know if they still carry it or not. I'm sure the set was under $10.

4. ELF essetails eye shadow brush- This is the perfect brush for packing on shadow to the eyelid. Available at www.eyeslipsface.com $1

5. Mary Kay eye crease brush- This brush is the perfect size for my eye crease. I like it to apply color and also blending it out. It came in a brush set that I got as a free gift. You cannot buy this brush seperately. The set is available at www.marykay.com or through your Mary Kay represenative. The set is $48

6. Coastal Scents small oval eye detail brush- I love using this brush to apply shadow to my inner corner, it is the perfect size! I also got this one in a set.  This is the set I got at www.coastalscents.com it is origanlly $39 but I'm sure I got it on sale.

These are all brushes that I've accumulated over time. If you are in the market for brushes I suggest looking at ELF or Coastal Scents for inexpensive brushes that will get the job done!

Thanks for reading and have a great day! :)
